The Watcher in the Woods (2017)

I wish I did not watch this. The original was a bit campy at times, but was a great movie. This one, not so much. The acting, the actors, just everything about it was bad. I wish they would stop remaking movies. It was a Lifetime remake at that. Just a horrible try of a remake.

Fun expanded tongue-in-cheek riff on the 1974 Roddenberry pilot Planet Earth.

She is quirky and devilish. She has kind of a gleam in her eyes that lets you know there is a lot going on behind them. She is witty, funny and possesses the wonder of a child and the disposition of someone I would like as a friend in real life. You learn from the beginning she has seen a lot but does not appear to let it darken her view of the world around her. So far the cast of characters come off as reasonable and for TV surprisingly realistic. We are patiently waiting for the next episode and hope the show continues to shine.

It’s hard to watch Lucy Lawless without thinking of Zena. I loved that show. I never realized she was in Battlestar Galactica, I guess becauise I’m not really someone who gets to know who all the actors are and their whole lives. Plus, she was blonde. I need to go back and rewatch that series.

haha still love her acting, thus far. We’ve rewatched Morgan and The Witch countless times. The Queen’s Gambit is good, as well.

I have little doubt that there were Nazi sympathizers throughout the war that would have eagerly surrendered to Germany, but given that the British Union of Fascists and National Socialists was proscribed by the British government following the outbreak of war and disbanded soon after, it seems unlikely that there would be many willing to voice those opinions publicly.

No, we didn’t. She’s amazing though. Love her and her work. I hope she stays stable and vital without going too weird (as in Hollyweird). lol

Fright Night (2011)

A terrific remake: David Tennant, was a stroke of genius. Colin Farrell had to be completely waxed for the role (he’s a hairy guy), and Anton Yelchin is greatly missed. Well worth the watch, even if you’re a staunch fan of the original.

Abigail (2019)

This is so fun!!! The story is fresh, the cast is talented, and the pacing is on point.

I especially enjoyed Dan Stevens’s performance, because it was very reminiscent of the character he played in Legion, which was one of my favorite shows.

I also liked Kathryn Newton’s performance so much, I immediately watched Freaky when I was done with this. (Which was also huge fun, but don’t bother if you’re one of those people who uses “woke” like it’s a bad thing.)

If you’re a fan of A Discovery Of Witches, you’ll want to see this if just for the hilarious cameo.

tabularascal 1 points 3 hours ago.

This comment just got meta, because it made me come here!

This is one of those movies I started to watch during COVID lockdown and never finished because I suddenly had the attention span of a goldfish. It seemed good, though, like it would be really interesting if the world weren’t on fire.

grasshopper rex 1 points 3 hours ago*.

Again, another bogus claim made to which there is zero proof that he ever said that. A spokesperson for Mel Gibson told Reuters via email that the claims are “100% fake”. The original claim only made reference to Hollywood, the addition of Disney is fairly new.

The junk news site that posted that article is well known as a source of fake news. Snopes has fact-checked them numerous times, and their claims are always proven to be either straight-up lies, gross manipulations of facts, or misstatements.

Because of rights issues. That is why Disney did not release it. Also, they did not see it as a movie that would make profit. There was no conspiracy about it.

This show is like a good book you just can’t put down, with an ending you could never imagine. I”d say I want to see a second series, but I read it’s a limited series, and the story is really over when it ends. This is must-see TV. It has it all, murder, corruption, perversion, and some truly horrible people. It’s definitely worth binging.

Why yes. It is Inaccurate that Arc did not see her until in The Menu. I love how you are trying to tell them they are silly for not seeing the other movies first and also saying pretty much they are wrong.

Sorry, I misread it. I thought they were saying that the actor was first discovered in the Menu. Apologies for misreading/misinterpreting.
